Dynamics of Embankment Slope Stability under Combination of Operating Water Levels and Drawdown Conditions

This study investigated the potential influence of operating water levels and loading conditions on slope stability an embankment dam. Four different reservoir (normal, reduced, height, overflow) were considered in study. Numerical modeling was used to investigate problem case Chardara dam within Syrdarya catchment Kazakhstan. Based drawdown rates conditions, minimum factor safety values ranging from 0.56 (total failure) 2.5 retrieved. Furthermore, a very high correlation observed between days, values, maximum pore-water pressures, with coefficients 0.561 0.997 (strong strong correlation). On other hand, highest negative pressures. Additionally, based results analysis variance, three resulted p-values less than 0.05, indicating that variations statistically significant. The findings this demonstrated that, not only may rate be detrimental embankments, but can also affect ways.
